British Recycled Plastic donation

British Recycled Plastic, whose factory is based in Dumfries, generously donated two recycled plastic raised beds to support our growing efforts at Forest Ridge.

The beds were straightforward to assemble, although filling them with soil was a much bigger job. Once planted, they will become home to a range of late-season crops including perpetual spinach, kale, swedes and turnips, helping to extend our harvests well into the colder months.

What makes these beds particularly special is their longevity. Manufactured from recycled plastic and guaranteed to last for 25 years, they provide a durable, low-maintenance growing space that will support food production at Forest Ridge for decades to come.

As we continue to expand our vegetable growing areas and work towards our long-term vision of a productive market garden, these beds represent an important investment in the future of the project. We're incredibly grateful for the support and look forward to sharing the harvests they help produce.
